Quandry: Sell or keep PS3?
I say it's a no brainer to sell it. The ONLY reason I want a PS3 is so that I can sell it for a profit. Do you honestly think you're going to get $600+ use out of it before you're able to pick up another one? Are you or your kids the "gotta be the first to have the newest and best products" types? I can't believe people are willing to pay so much for just a pre-order on these things... I say you take advantage of their impatience.
well, news right now seems to indicate that Sony will only be shipping half of what they expected to ship when they told EBgames, Gamestop, Etc how many systems they'd be receiving. So you may want to wait till you have it in your hands before taking money for it on Ebay. It could turn into a real mess. They are now supposed to ship 200k instead of the initial estimate of 400k.
Umm well if you are a hardcore gamer like myself then its a tossup. I for one am keeping one. But then again I have 7 coming my way on launch (granted EBgames comes through along with BB). I think the people who are flipping them stand to make ALOT of money come the 17th. If you are going to sell it I would deff reccomend that you wait until after black friday to sell if at all. I have been monitoring prices the last couple weeks on ebay, it seems that bare systems themselves are ending in the 1800-2200 range. I saw one today end at 2245 with one game. I think once the system hits and everyone realizes they are sold out and there will be no more than prices will go even higher. The closer to x-mas we get, the higher the prices will go. The average parent probably has no idea what the hell is going on until after they start shopping for x-mas for their kid (black friday) and then realizes that it will be the "hard to get" item this holiday season after every store says there will be no more until next spring. It is going to be pretty hard to demand a price for the first few weeks after the system lanches as I think ebay will be swarmed with PS3's for sale, most likely over 100,000. Id wait till alot of people sell theirs the first couple weeks, then throw them up when there is less. Then again the plan could backfire if everyone waits until the week before x-mas to throw it up. Only thing that sucks is that Paypal is locking up funds in escrow for 30 days for anyone who buys/sells a ps3 for "added protection", which i think is a bunch of BS. I think ebay/paypal is just trying to squeeze some added interest out of their accounts. Either way goodluck. I am staying away from paypal. I reccomend you do the same if you wanna wait 30+ days for your money.

I do have the best buy playbook somewhere on my computer which was leaked to some that reveals the PS3/Wii and what will happen according the selling and such of PS3. If I find it I will post it.
i wanted it, but there is honestly no way i will be keeping mine (#1 in line) i am going to wait till it is released and ebay prices jump bc of people that didnt want to buy a pre-order (not sure they would get item) and bc people figured they would be able to camp out, i might hang on to it untill a couple weeks before xmas so i can capitalize even more
Just so you know, last year there was a graph tracking average closing prices on eBay for XBOX 360s, and the way the prices went were highest right after launch, then it slowly came back down and went back up again peaking I believe 2 weeks before Christmas. Waiting until the last minute before Christmas may not be the best time to sell.
