Help i'm stuck in a decision for component speakers!
i'm between Boston pro 6.5 or alpine type-r's

tough to consider!!!

 

If you have not tried...might post over in Electronics forum. For good or bad (I think, for "good enuf"), I'm a Polk guy through and through...

yea, personally I REALLY dislike BA's and Alpine is overpriced and overrated for speakers (IMHO). I REALLY like Diamond Audio, even their c-m3 components are awesome... but if you're limited (or FORCED) to those two choices, I would say the Alpine's. But my real choice would be neither.

 

well if you can get the alpines for less then retail (a lot less then retail) then go for that.

but as evan implied, speakers are hugely subjective. if you like both equally go for the best deal.

i love my focals, but i could understand why some people do not like them (again, a lot of opinion in speakers). i second evan's comment about diamond audio, good value, whatever you get make sure you listen to them first.

 

I have the 6.5 Boston Pros in my S now but taking them out for bigger bang! They are the best IMO. For sale along with some amps that are coming out as well if your interested. They are still in so you can hear them if you want.

I have MB Quart PSCs in 5.25. I think they are a step down from their top of the line. They could use a little more punch but I've never heard clearer acoustics. If I could do it again I'd get the PSC 6.5s and just use an adapter.
