So not only was the guy OK except for minor leg injury, but the bike didn't suffer any damage except cosmetic?

It would appear so. St's are quite sturdy machines. Crash bars up from did their job....

only about 600 dollars in damage...mostly tupperware.

Saddle bags make good crash bars, I know from Experience.

They save your legs also.

I can't tell how far he traveled into the grass, but he's lucky he wasn't going the other way.
