just go to OG Racing's store and try some helmets on and talk to the service guys, they'll help you figure out what you need

BTW, is a roll bar still required if you're using a hard top?

Depends on the event and/or track. The regional guy for NASA told me this April that they are now requiring rollbars for the S2000, however, I know for a fact that they have not adhered to this rule. Summit does not require a rollbar for any of their self-sponsored events- hardtop or not. Same goes for BeaveRun.

Didn't we already have this discussion?

An Aluminim hardtop is NOT a subsitute for a properly designed rollbar. NASA is seriously frowning on S2000s without rollbars and I could not get a clear answer from Chris Corbetto (Mid-A NASA head honcho) so rather than risk getting turned away I have been using my Miata track beater (Rollbar/seats/6 point harness).

they made me sit in my car with a helmet on to make sure the bar was above my head... but I also dont have a hardtop. They were complaining a little about another S2k at another event that had a different rollbar but the fact he had a hardtop they said it was ok.

so Im sorry, I wasnt even thinking. I wouldnt even try a NASA event without a rollbar. Im not sure however if the rule is different for HPDE 1 or 2

I am gonna mooch off of Mike's thread her for a minute...

I am thinking that it really is time to invest in a roll bar setup.

I REALLY like this one from Cusco... GB price is about right, too... BUT, I do not want to invest in it if it won't cut the mustard.

Here is a pic of what I am talking about:

5 point with harness bar

The particular reason I want this one is because you do not have to hack out so much of the interior to get it in. You get to keep all of the storage, too!

Oh yea... And... It's blue, baby!

Actually im glad you brought up a new point (instead of just brakes) about tracking. As long as it's track related keep the info going.
