Default Possible Map Sensor problem

New to the s2k forums. Just bought a 2000 ap1 with 120k on it. Went to test drive the car seems fine. But when rolling off first gear car struggles to take off and also at idle the car wants to stall but doesn't on its own. MIL light is on but haven't had time to retrieve any codes yet. Previous owner put a unknown brand intake. Could the MAP sensor be bad? Or is it vacuum related?

Joey Butel would be a great person to ask. I can't recall his screen name on here, but I will get in touch with him and see if he can help you out.

Try to clean the IACV valve and do the map whack, both DIY's for that are on here and very well explained with videos and stuff.
if that doesn't work, clean the throttle body as well but if you are doing the two items above might as well do the TB.

Both easy items to remove and clean.

also I forgot to mention, when you do all of this remove the 7.5 fuse that is labeled as "Back Up" on the drivers side fuse box. Leave it off for a couple of seconds and then put it back in place and start the car. With this your car will re learn the idle.

sorry if it sounds confusing but it's easier for me to physically show somebody than type it lol.

hope it helps.

Have you had any luck? I would suggest going towards the Under the Hood forum and seeing if you can get some help from those experts. Especially Billman.
