The thing is people must really consider that these companies are providing them with a good deal. How else could they afford the megabucks tv ads if no one is subscribing ???

The sad thing is you can get excellent free advice and help from any Citizen's Advice Bureau, but people will use First Plus et al.

Even the name winds me up, substituting the "i" with a "1" in their name.

I think most people go with these because they can't go anywhere else. Ocean Finance and Co (great ads) give money to people that have convictions, poor credit ratings etc, the type of people that most companies run a mile from because they can't be trusted with money. The beauty of these places is that they know you can't get credit elsewhere so they hike the interest rate and then nick your house if you don't pay up. Bless 'em.
