Prestonian I've had a couple of runs with Boxster S's....believe me there is nothing in it....where the Boxster pulls away initially...it then runs out revs....S2000 then makes up ground as we hit VTEC....then we run out of revs as Boxster S comes 'on song'
This yo yo'ing continues for as long as either driver is prepared to continue with the 'performance comparison'
The 2.5 Boxster and I guess to an extent the 2.7's are different animals but I had 'a go' with a 2.7 and while the S2000 had the legs there wasn't really much in it
As for Boxster pilot's driving styles.....I would argue that the sheer number of Boxsters relative to the low volumes of S2000's will mean it's inevitable, due to the law of averages from time to time you will come up against a Boxster driven by a twat
This doesn't mean all Boxster drivers behave like
Now don't get me wrong I am not brown nosing to Boxster drivers just pointing out that you can't tar them all with the same brush

I've had a few encounters with Boxters.
Boxster - (not S ) ...The S is much faster.
Boxster S - Nothing in it.
Both drivers were cool and we gave each other the thumbs up.

Trying to be objective on this matter, I'd like to flip the coin a bit - who cares if I get flamed!!!
I know that when I had my S, that I'd always try and take on faster and more expensive machinery and I've been witness to a number of the board members here doing the same. During some of those 'exploits' I and some other S2K'ers were involved in some very "dodgy" driving.
People in glass houses and all that - Let's not be too quick to bash the Boxster drivers all the time!

Now this comment is also not a dig. Honestly James no dig at all. My work colleagues cousin has a 996 C4, now seriously, he his a hairdresser as well!
But his car is quite simply fantastic. The 996 is what I view to be quite a amazing vehicle. You`re a lucky boy.
I still think Boxters suck bigtime.
