We're comparing apples to oranges here. If we give small businesses the cash, we'll get $50k worth of restaurant meals, luxury spa treatments, etc.

I'm not a fan of big government; but remember that the American consumer, left to make their own decisions, made a millionaire out of the inventor of the "pet rock."

I'd much rather pay $200k for a job that creates lasting value for the American economy than $50k to create a job selling cheap Chinese/Korean/Indian/Indonesian crap that will be in the landfill in a couple of years.

It's still less than the amount provided in the stimulus bill for digital converter boxes.

Feds will pay for TV change to digital

With a little more than three weeks until analog TV goes dark, the federal government said Tuesday it would pay for in-home installation of digital TV converter boxes for the millions of households still unprepared.

So now the Fed is going to pay to install the digital converter boxes? I guess it is true, the lazier you are, the more government will help you.
