There is only one radar detector I know of that cannot be detected. I forget the name of it right now.

The Beltronics STi (Stealth Technoligies I?) is 100% immune dashmount detector.
The Beltronics STi-R is a remote mounted unit of the STi
The Escort 9500ci is 100% immune to Spectre and Spectre2.
The Escort 8500 series and 9500 series as well as the V1 are pretty good at Spectre immunity. They give off a very small footprint. Cobra's on the other hand give off so much 'radiation' that other RDs can pick them up.

Radar/laser detectors, crap shoot. Again, you are hoping that the cop uses it while you are in range. then there is clocking that you won;t even realize until he is behind you with his lights on. Don;t forget VA uses airborne VASCAR extensively and any speed over 80mp is arrestable, which is BS. And, VA troopers also have Specters which can detect radar detectors and pinpoint exactly which car it is in.
Laser jammers, another crap shoot. that doesn't work if the offeicer knows he has been jammed and just writes "estimated" on the ticket. Then you have the choice to pay it or make another 10hr ride to appeal it.
Taking your chances with at wicked high speeds for a long time is not worth the hour or two on the road you may save.
Making good time doing about 10-15 over the limit holds a decent risk to benefit ration IMO.

I have the Escort 9500 and it at least detects Spectre use - makes a COOL noise
I hit that somewhere in all my recent multi state travels. Usually just X and Y bands around here though.
In VA I have unplugged the detector and stowed it away; it's just not worth losing something that expensive plus the ticket.

And when it comes to the expressway, I drive at 75 max.

X, K, Ka, Ku (not used in USA) and Lidar. What is this Y?
In VA if you are caught with a detector 2 things happen. 1 they must prove that your detector works by bringing it to their cruiser to verify it detects their speed enforcement device. Then if you live out of state you are handed a ticket for $100 and your RD back after they store the serial number. If you live in VA it is confiscated and AFAIK you never see it again.
