They are certainly informative and cool, but it's superfluous information and not necessary to have your ass saved. We can argue about this at the brake meet if you want.

HEre is how it saved MY ass, you tell me how I could have done this without arrows:
Travelling east on 195 approaching my exit, about 1/4 mile past the exit, I can see a trooper on a road detail. My V1 alerts and the arrow is to the front. I immediatly figure it is the trooper that I can see on the detail.
As I get closer to the exit, the signal gets stronger. Yup, the trooper. So I thought.
This exit has nice curves and you can see through the whole thing, so I hammer through it. Just as I am now getting half way through the exit, the arrows briefly show left to right instead of forward. Huh, the trooper was in the other direction. Then, as I get off the exit on to reed rd, which is easy to be going 15+ over without even knowing, the arrow shows forward. Now, remember that the trooper would be behind me at this point.
So, I slow down and find a Dartmouth cruise shooting Ka just around the bend. All this was in a very short distance and not much time to watch ramp up. The arrows saved my ass.
There is no way you can do that without arrows unless you simply drive like grandma every time it goes off. In that case, it kind of defeats the reason for having a RD to begin with.
No point to argue at the meet, I will never be swayed from the V1.

Altho with the V1 and it's falsing, I can agree it might be annoying to slow down every time it beeps

That is what you should really do. No matter what you think or the V1 says you can sometimes be mistaken and to me it's not worth the risk. If you want to play the arrow game that is fine with me, your insurance policy

I had mine programmed to my liking and I rarely got a false.

For the record. If I had infinite cash I would do the 9500ci for radar/laser protection and stuff a V1 on the visor for the arrows. But I don't have $2k to blow just yet.

That would be cool, but I wonder if the detectors would effect each other negatively. I have seen that happen before.
basically the local osc can create enough noise in the other detector that it can't lock.
