aaa'd it home jumped it with a jump pack put a volt meter on the battery (and ground on a grounding point) reading 11.4v with no load and 9.5v with the headlights on

so i ordered a new alt.. Bill i might borrow a car tonight and cruise over to grab the helms i left

Can you take some drain oil to the recycler too?

Steve, how much is a remanufactured alt from Autozone? Is it worth getting a used one?

165 from autozone

millis used $75.00 with a 90 day warranty

and no prob bill just looking to see if i can get a car to come over tonight BUT if i can't make it - i'll swing by this weekend and collect the used oil as my dump takes all that stuff

I can't believe that price. I used to get rebuilt alternators for 39.95

One wire GM style alternators are much cheaper .


Also Steve is that with or without core?? Core can vary from $55 to $80

165 + 85 core charge from autozone but i never count the core charge cause i always bring them back

i did find a rebuilding kit (brushes) for 25

75 no core from Millis used
