I have an idea.......Steve......take the fuse(s) out of the audio equipment powerlines that attach at the battery and see if that fixes the problem......I hada VERY similiar problem on my old rustang GT.

You are blowing the alternator fuse right? I'm betting you have a short, and I think I could pinpoint it.

Jim , I never said you could not dilute it .

I meant that if it is that caustic, that I would not even use it diluted. Better safe than sorry.

Disconnect the radio cables from the battery and then see if the system works.

Maybe I missed something, but yesterday, the car was just dying and running out of juice. No fuses popping.

Today, after the alternator is replaced, you are popping fuses.

If this is the case, maybe the alternator is bad, or you have made a mistake durring installation. Just a thought.

nope it's the fuse for the voltage regulator and this popped when i first had the problem because it gives the same simptoms ie dim batery light and brake light

i must have a short in the wire that runs from the fuse to the voltage regulator

This obvioulsy has something to do with the power steering stuff we did. Are there any wires in the area of what we changed? I would look at these first. If not that, it had to be the power washing.
