The lawn mower just stalled out on me. I think the grass is so long in some spots that it clogged it up, as I'm not bagging it.

I set it on it's side and cleaned out the underside, now I can't start it. I think either I flooded it, or my arms are too girlie to get enough power to start it up again. It's a Toro, it always starts on the first or second pull.

I blame George W for this. If the economy was not as bad as it is, Rick would still be at his old job, and home by now, mowing the lawn.

OK, gonna try it again.
Lainey, the mower may just need a new plug / air filter and the blade sharpened. My old mower started bogging out on thick stuff once and after replacing the plug/filter and having the blade sharpened, it was great again.

I am going to change everything out on my rider this weekend because of the same thing. Towards the end of the year, it started having a tough time in some spots. I don't really want to spend a couple grand on a new one, so I have to make this one last.

FWIW, if you ever need lawn equipment serviced, I highly recommend the Head Small engine repair on rt 6 near my house. The guy is a really nice guy, the service is fast and the prices are very good.

Yes it had gas in it, Jerry.

I got it going. I started it without the choke, and finished up bagging it. I was taking narrow cuts, but it was just too long, I guess. I think Rick had the mower tuned, and some other parts replaced a couple of years ago, but the thing is like twenty years old.

OK, gotta make dinner now. I need a wife.

I change out my plug/filter/oil every spring. They are short money and make a huge difference. The blades dull pretty quickly too.

I love to waste money, but for some reason I like trying to make lawn equipment last forever

Looking at these photos makes it clear, they are dumping a lot of money into this place!

NJ may not be very accommodating for the S. I will have to bug Ian when it gets a little closer to when he may actually plan an event there.

No one picked up on this yet? Prior to my successful attempt to get the thing going again, I was trying to start a lawnmower that was already warm, using the choke.

Rick pointed out the error of my ways.

Some motors still like a little choke when hot. My dirtbike liked about half choke if it stalled on the trail sometimes. Every small engine has it's own personality.

I started with the simple questions first.

ok sir why is that.

the screen is dark.
ok sir are any other lights on in the room?
no we're having a power failure...

you know simple questions...
