Default Why no e85?

Just curious if anyone knows why CT (for example), has no e85 stations? We have one in Hartford but its for DOT use only. I tried searching to see why but can't find anything.. Anyone know?

I don't know the proper answer, but I'd presume it's due to lack of demand and questionable prices. Not many people have an e85 flex fuel capable vehicle, and I have my suspicions that the cost/mile is higher when running on e85 than the current e10. I've no proof of that, though, merely speculation.

Using all the e85 locators I did not find any either, and I was also curious as to why. So in searching I found this article, that I'm linking to below that lists the stations I've also listed below. I did recently switch and am very happy with it. I am on the NY border to there are a few station near me. This article if from June 2010. I'm planning on calling a few of these, especially any that may be on route to Lime Rock for me so I don't have to bring extra gas or do a swap.

Did you have to do anything to your fuel system/management to swap. I was under the impression you could not just fill up with E85, am I wrong? Adding enzyme eater treatment? Lots of trouble with just the E10 on small motors (esp 2 stroke).

I believe with e85 you essentially have to double your normal fuel setup. IE if you run 1000cc injectors you need 2000cc and a 2nd fuel pump and tune, etc.

just a retune. I went from making 450hp at 16.5 psi to 450hp at 12psi. If I wanted to get into the 550hp range I could upgrade to ID1600's and bigger pump, but there is no need, my priority is on getting my car corner balanced/align and proper oil cooling. I made the switch to E85 as it runs cooler and will help keep temps down, plus my tuner (Jeff Evans) loves E85.

You mean just a retune in your case right?
