RSW Driftcross Event 2
Round 2 of this series was canceled due to weather. It has since been rescheduled for this weekend - Sunday...to be specific.
Here's the RSW thread: RSW Driftcross 2
The event flier is outdated but the info is consistent with the current rules/pricing/schedule.
Feel free to ask any questions here and I'll do my best to answer them.
I might run my car, depending on whether I find some tires to use. Or...if someone wants to let me co-drive, I'll pay a negotiated portion of your entry fee. I'd prefer an S2000, but would consider other options.
Let's get some S2000s out to these events! The course should feature quite a few auto-x style elements, which will keep speeds lower and reduce tire wear a bit. It'll also keep larger and more powerful cars(read "STi's") from having much of an advantage.
P.S. - RomoS2kSS, I expect you to attend this event!

Put Andy in a s2k and he will have the same times as a sti and evo.
With that said, I think an S2000 has a good chance to run similar times on the course that Chris Kiser and I have designed. Hopefully they'll let us run it, as it's a bit unconventional.
Any takers for letting me co-drive and I'll pay 100% of your entry fee??

Haha! I would love to be there but I'll be in Las Vegas. I will for sure be at the Arroyo Seco track day on May 31st with the tires that I destroyed at the May 10th Wallace Bow track day.

I'm sure you'll be having plenty of fun in Vegas. There will be plenty more events this summer. I'll try to make it to the track day at ASR.
Woohoo - scored a co-drive with an '07 S2000 on RE-01Rs. Should be interesting to see how an AP2 compares to my AP1.
Anyone else going to make it out to this event?

Make sure you turn off the traction control before you run it... I forgot a couple times on autocross runs in my '06 and it was awful. It seems like there's always an excuse for my ass not showing up but it's the wife's graduation party on Sunday and I need to put in my new brake pads, stainless lines, and brake fluid.... so I suck again.

Event recap -
The weather held out, thankfully. Turnout was low, which meant tons of track time. Everyone got 3 open lapping sessions (10 minutes long, each) on the course we set up. We wanted to run the course in the opposite direction to throw off the experienced track drivers, but due to damp conditions we opted to run in the traditional direction.
The AP2 I drove was quite composed, though I managed to trip an error code in the ABS during a spin. I've never had it happen with my AP1 before and I've spun it plenty of times. So, not sure what happened there but I was left without ABS for one of my sessions. The balance of the AP2 was similar to my AP1 with an FSB on a medium stiffness. It would understeer through turns at the limit but could rotate with a little throttle lift.
I was bested in the timed portion of the event by an Ariel Atom, Legends car, and a kart...all entries I don't mind being beaten by
I had an opportunity to drive the shifter kart in my final timed run, which made me decide to quite racing my S2000 buy a kart...when I can afford one.
1st attempt at driving a shifter
Hopefully we'll get a few more S2000s out to the next RSW event!
