Considering an S2000
Hi guys.
I am in the market for a new (newer used) car. One car I have been considering is the S2000. From the kind of prices I've seen, it looks like I might be able to afford a 2000 S2000. What's a good price for a 2000 model nowadays with modest (20 - 30k) mileage? Coming from a current 93 MR2 owner, I am looking to get an equivalent car.
The MR2 Spyder is a great car but too impractical and not powerful enough. If they only put the 2ZZ-GE engine and tranny in the Spyder!! I am hoping not to settle for a Spyder though. IMO (on a side note) Toyota will be forced to put the 2ZZGE engine in the Spyder because with the new RX8 coming out in two trim line rotary engines (160 and 250HP) you can bet that Mazda will put the 160HP rotary in the new Miata.
I know the S2000 is not the most practical car but it looks more practical than the Spyder. Were there any 1st year bugs that were ironed out in later years?
My friend leased a new one and he loves it. It is certainly a great car for the money.
BTW... Anybody on this forum from Staten Island?
Thanks for any help,
Mike
