Nothing beats seeing someone hit with the sasr......
one of the last ops we went on before leaving marjah, i was on a roof all day when we were surrounded. One of the other snipers had the Barret .50 out with explosive rounds. 2 taliban popped out from behind a wall at about 850m, he engaged with the SASR, that was quite a sight.

my hearing is probably much worse than it was a few years ago due to the barrett .50

I lost 50% hearing from getting hit by an IED, almost getting hit by another and all the mortar rounds they lobbed at us so I'm ok if hearing/seeing what a sasr can do damaged it more.

We never had any special rounds that I know of, then again you didn't really need them lol

Neither did I. Info is in the sig, sadly the "deployment" I've gotten was the 31st MEU which I just got off of. I was fun but I cant say I got to do much but get down and dirty with the trucks and blow a lot of stuff up. (I was attatched to a combat engineer plt)

I'm not active or enlisted for that matter but most of my friends are (I'd say a near 95% of them) and a good majority of my family on the male side is of military background.

So thank you from me to each and every one of you regardless of what branch, or position, for serving.

(I do proudly rock the USMC sticker on my windshield in the upper passenger corner though!)

Be safe out there, everyone.
