Do you know for certain that everyone drank the same amount of alcohol and that your friends should owe more money? You are making the assumption that everyone drank the same and therefore each person owed you more money. Your friends may be thinking to themselves right now that you are the "scumbag" for expecting them to pay more when they didn't drink as much as you and your wife. There are always 2 sides to the coin.

Also, why are you bitching about the tab when you decided to get a private table and bottle service? If you wanna be a "baller" and get private tables and bottle service, suck it up.
Another person missing the point.... Everyone drank the same, my buddy's girlfriend personally ordered the last bottle of champagne. In my mind, a man is responsible for his woman. You aren't even on my level, kid, so don't lecture me on being a baller..its not about the money. Private tables were a weekly thing for me before I got married and had a kid, now I dont have time to go out. I never said they "owed" me money, i would've at least appreciated an offer to help more with the tab.

LOL, doesn't seem right does it?
I got sick of some cheap bastard friends of mine dodging checks. They'd eat or drink more than everyone else than pull the "i'll get ya back" move or the "throw in $10 for the $30 of stuff I had with no tip" move.

Having read through the entire thread, the title really should have been, "I'm right, dammit, and don't rell me otherwise."

I am just tired of this sense of entitlement by people, I hate to rant, but I will anyways. My wife is from Italy and the people over there are so generous and giving. Her friends over there don't make a great deal of money, but they are always generous and they are honest/good people. Cheapness is not in their vocabulary...

how do you figure? I am just trying to rationalize the situation...of course I am going to think I am right, but outside input is always interesting to hear/read. I knew some cheapos would chime in and try to defend themselves.

I feel your pain brother. I had to add a rule though.

1. Always get separate tabs
2. Somenone will always eat/drink more than you and either not pay or want to split it. See rule #1
3. NEVER open a bar tab unless you fully expect to pay all of it. See rule #1
4. Friends and family are the worst offenders. See rule #1
X 1000.

I am always the nice guy. Paying for everybody's drinks. Big Mistake. So from now on I do seperate tabs or just except to pay for the drinks If my wife/I invited everybody.
