I don't like George W Bush (and think he is a pretty weak president), but in his defense I understood he was in Florida talking to school children when the planes were crashing.

So whether the plane that hit the Pentagon was targeting the White House or not has nothing to do with him returning to the White House. I have no doubt that a potential target for them was the White House. It was confirmed today by several people that the Jet circled and sighted by the capital and was heading towards the white house then abruptly turned toward the pentagon.

What has everything to do with that was a rumored 5th plane that was unaccounted for was going to show up and hit the White House. I haven't heard anything else about this 5th plane.

I think the rumored 5th plane that was unaccounted for was actually the one that hit the Pentagon. I don't know why, but for the longest time, everyone thought that the plane that hit the Pentagon was not the American flight. So, what happened was, you had the 4 flights 2 American and 2 United, plus the one that hit the Pentagon. So that gives you 5 planes. However, the one that hit the Pentagon was the American flight.
