another watches thread... non-authorized dealers
Thanks for the interesting opinions... I prefer to buy from authorized dealers but sometimes the price difference is insane. I've seen up to 40% off MSRP on Tag Heuers and Omegas.
Of course, Tag doesn't warranty these gray market watches and sometimes these non-authorized dealers remove the serial numbers and even change the case back of the watch. A friend of mine recently brought a new Tag from the internet. They told him that they are an authorized dealer, which was BS, and the case backing of his watch was replaced with a cheap looking plastic backing with no markings. Usually it has the Tag Heuer logo, model and serial numbers engraved. I didn't have the heart to tell him.
