Hello,

I have been a Police man for almost two years. In my relatively short tenure, I have gained experiences that only a handful of people will ever get the chance to see first hand in their entire lifetimes. Why did I become a Police Officer? Well, my academic experience led me down the path of a graduate degree in Sociology with a concentration in Criminology. As part of my vocational experience, I worked in Corrections for three years prior to joining my current employer. Moving from Corrections to "hands on" law enforcement if you will seemed like a natural progression.

Life experience is paramount when considering this domain of work. No amount of traditional education or training will aid you more than real-life examples that you can draw from in your own life in helping you navigate other people through their difficulties, while at the same time maintaining refined investigative abilities. Integrity, honesty, courage and compassion for helping other people are other attributes of a good Policeman; attributes you should already posess before even contemplating such a line of work.
