Diet is 90% and exercise is 10%
It's simple, if you want to lose weight, make sure to burn more calories than you are consuming.
As far as supplements go. They do help, but only if supplemented with a good nutrition regimen. If you don't already know, try to get 5-6 mini meals instead of 3 large meals, this way it is easier for your body to digest the food.
Good luck in losing the weight. With a proper diet and exercise, I'm positive you will reach your goal.

5-6 meals a day is ideal, but usually hard to do when you have a busy job. Snacking on a candy bar during your coffee break doesnt count as a meal. As for dieting...all diets need to be accompanied with some for of excersise, or else you will either become malnourished (usually vitamin deficiency) or have too much of something (most people who go on diets eat a lot of salads, and their iron levels plummet, thus causing them to be tired all the time)
The most important thing is good, reliable, CORRECT information.
is diet really 90 percent? Ive maintained (for the most part) my weight with little excercise and no real healthy manner of eating (but I never eat McDonalds or Burger King, etc.) Im carb queen. Are you sure that if I just start working out like crazy and continuing my normal food intake (minus coke) I won't loose weight? 10 percent isnt much.

Sorry, but thats simply not true. First of all, ephedra is NOT a supplement, its a drug, and is now illegal in the US. Second, most REAL pure supplements can, and do aid their target goal. Thats great that you can do it in 6 weeks, but simple genetics determines how fast you get results. What takes you 6 weeks, will probably take me 6 months. When I was a swimmer/gym nut, supplements helped me A LOT. (Blood test proven)
i mean i can eat like a horse, but i burn it off instantly.....
i've been lean (for lack of a better word) for 20 years.

does metabolism not have a part to play in all this?

The more muslce you have the more fat you'll burn. 2 Days a week of weight lifting isn't going to help you add much muscles. Also make sure your taking yourself to failure.
Working out to failiure is ONLY when bulking. He wants to lose weight. Working out to failiure FLOODS your muscles with lactic acid, and will destroy them, since they dont have the surplus of calories to repair themselves.
A perfect example of dieting and working to failiure would be to look at a picture of someone from the Holocaust. Yes, thats an extreme example, but the sience is right them. Your body needs glucose to stay alive. When you are undercaloried, your body needs to get glucose somehow....and if you dont ingest any (like the Holocaust...since they were starved) your body will start taking it from you. Now, we all know there are only 3 things as far as the body is concerned....lipids (fat) amino acids (protein) and glucose (sugar)....
Lipids are not a substitute for glucose, thus, your body will begin to convert your amino acids (protein)...which happen to be your muscles, to glucose, and burning them up. Once that happends, you will look like a Holocaust survivor. So...working out to failure is GREAT...IF you are bulking, and eating 4000-5000 calories a day. If you eat 2000, not only will you not gain muscle, you will lose what you have faster, and possibly/probably hurt yourself.
Just another note, Indians (the country, not native americans) have a large problem with muscle mass, because MANY of them are vegetarians, and eat very little protein, so their body robs it from them.
Hope this helps. So I urge everyone again, take any advice you like, just make sure the person giving it to you can explain it.
