Better daily driver -- '99/'00 Civic Si or Integra GS-R?
I'm looking to replace my current daily driver, does anyone have any experience with either of these cars? I've driven several GS-R's, no Si's yet. I like the GS-R, but on average it's going to be about $3K more for the Integra (similar age, miles). Any opinions? Btw, the GS-R that I'm looking at is Supersonic Blue with black leather...
Having owned a couple Sis I would definitely recommend taking one for a drive.
Things I liked about the cars
1) The engine- its no F20C but the B16A isn't bad. Decent amount of torque for a 1.6l and the power builds up almost until redline.
2) Pretty good fuel economy. I probably averaged around 26 mpg- about 4 better than I get in the S2000.
3) Decent suspension - not great but firm in a not shake your fillings loose kind of way.
4) Pretty good rear seat room, plus the seats fold down if you need to fit skis or something long in the car.
Things I didn't like
1) No ABS
2) Stock Tires sucked- especially in the wet
3) Front seats weren't very supportive. Heck the seats in the current generation regular civic are better than those in the old Si.
I've only driven GSRs for a couple short times but my impression was favorable. In fact, if I had been able to find one at the time I might have bought it instead of my 2nd Si.

Though the GS-R is more expensive, I think that's what I'd spring for. It's somewhat sportier, far better interior (leather, fully optioned), and also maintains its value better (here, at least). I also think it's better looking, but that's purely subjective. Still, it's also more expensive to insure (normally) and will probaby cost a little more to service at an Acura dealership (as opposed to the Honda dealership). Not that that's a bad thing - typically, an Acura dealership is much better in service, in my opinion.
The GSR is the better car - by far.
The interior (especially the seats) is much more comfortable.
Acura service is heaven compared to Honda.
The GS-R is faster and handles better.
My GSR has 145,000 miles and it will still do 140mph (from what I have heard). I'm hoping to get 245,000 miles out of it.
The stock tires suck - get something better - I have Michelin Pilot XGT- V4s. Pretty good tire.

The GS-R is a better car! I love the feel of the rod actuated shifter in this car. Not sure how the Si is shifted (cables?), but it MUCH more rubbery! The cargo capacity of the Integra coupe would be a welcome addition to the S2000s limited space.
