I don't mind sharing but I hate it when we come to a stop light and I have to wait and they can just zoom on ahead. WTF? I think if they are going to be on the same road as I am then they must obey the same traffic law. That's cheating if they expect us to treat them as one of us then why can't they obey the same law?
You are absolutely right on here. The law is very clear about that, a bicyclist has the oblilgation to follow all rules of the road, including stopping at lights. That some don't does not paint all of us, any more that the 7 cars that I saw run a light yesterday paints all drivers.
Running a light on a bike should result in the same punishment as doing so in a car. (Naturally occuring cosnequences might preclude gathering the fine from the hood ornament formerly known a cyclist, however.)

From an experience i had, a cyclist pulled next to me without me knowing. I preceeded to make my turn while the cyclist tried to go straight. Its almost like having a two lane road when one is not acceptable.
Hello! you are responsible to know what's around you and to proceed appropriately. In an intersection lacking traffic signals with a "Walk/Don't Walk" light, that cyclist could just as easily have been a mother and child.

They can't have the same punishment because they don't have insurance. Plus when cyclist get pulled over, they aren't required to carry a license. Also, what ever happened to exercise bikes.(you'll never have to worry about roads)

Dude, it was a back road and he was behind me. If he was following traffic laws he would have stayed there instead of trying to ride next to me. I dont check my back right bumper every stop sign to see if there are bikers there, sorry.

The same could be said about the biker.

Not much bothers me more then having to pass the same cyclist 9 times in traffic.
Life must be very good if that's the biggest annoyance you have!

Then lets ban people from walking/jogging/running on the streets too. They don't have insurance nor a license to do so.

I was just saying they cant be punished the same. It basically comes down to the fact, its not that big of an issue to make laws for the different scenerios.

Yes, they can. They can get the same tickets for violating chapter 90 here in Massachusetts as the driver of a car. I've known more than one person who's been pulled over for speeding on a bike. While they were not issued citations, they were seriously cautioned by the police. (Unfortunately, the police are as much to blame for the problems as the cyclists in that they don't enforce helmet laws, tehy don't make irresponsible riders move over or move to their sicde of the road (with traffic) or make dumbass kids NOT ride two up in traffic). A little enforcement could go a long way to smooting relations between riders and drivers.
