Seen them at my local Fry's electronics. It measures your dog's barks with a microphone in its neck collar and displays what your dog is "thinking" on a remote display.

I am the lead designer for http://www.thedogtranslator.com. What would you like to know?

They work pretty well. Basically, there's a wireless mic on the collar that digitizes and compresses barks and uploads them to a handheld unit with an LCD display. The handheld matches the bark to a database and determines which of six emotions the bark represents. Finally, it picks a random phrase from the category (out of 200 total) of emotion messages and displays that with a cute little picture.

There's a 30 day money back guarantee so you can try them on you dog and see how it works.

You're the designer?

I went and bought one (I got it at Sharper Image) My main complaint is that it's hard to get reception, even being a few feet away.

It's cool though (when it works)

One other thing (not to sound too anal)

You might look to see if you can make the part that fits on the collar a little smaller. My Jack russell likes to bite at it
