I grew up around Porsches and spent a good bit of my childhood weekends at PCA events. I love 'em and have a nostalgic fondness for them. If I'm ever rich, I'll purchase and restore an early 70's 911 as my weekend cruise-mobile. The Boxster S is a wonderful car - too rich for my blood, however.

So to address the original question - I have absolutely no problem with either the Porsche or the Honda badge.

(Regarding the Z06, I'm extremely intrigued by its performance. I'm totally itching to test drive one. [Can't stand Chevy salespeople, however.] But some of the other comments I've heard about the car really turn me off. I'd be surprised if its any more fun to drive than the S2000.)

I'd be lying if I said I knew what you were talking about. What's not for me?

A guy at work has the base Boxster... I've driven and found it much slower than the S2000. Yes, it is more of a luxury car with more trunk space and offers more convenience, practical features but I was looking for performance and looks, not convenience. The Boxster S is wasn't too interested in, for a bit more, I can get the 911.

I have sinced changed my thoughts to the M3. S2000 or save up even more for the M3?

The reason I don't consider the Corvette is cause I don't think I look good in it and I'm not exactly a muscle car type. I like the finesse that an S2000, Boxster, and M3 brings. As for styling. I found the back of the Boxster to be extremely beautiful. I love the front of the S2000 but don't like the back. M3 like the S2000 grows on you. I have to say the Boxster's styling wowed me but not the S2K and the M. But the more I look at it the more I like it. Any thoughts?

maybe should have considered the purchase more carefully in the first place. You clearly love it as I do.
Ah, must of been your accent that through me off.

You can get an NSX for $40k. It's a much more rare, faster and exotic looking car than a Boxster.

Are you talking about the new redesign NSXs (2003) that will be coming out? Cause a new NSX costs 140,000CDN here. Which is double that of an M3 or BoxsterS (w/o options). I don't forsee the new ones being any cheaper than the ones available now.

my friend got his 1990 nsx for $16k...so you can get one for half the price of an S2000. Doesn't sound all that exotic anymore. The thing runs great, just needs some cosmetic work in the interior and exterior, but isn't bad. It has around 70k miles. Some people like new cars. Some people like porsches and the boxster is a good porsche. You can get a lot of faster cheaper cars, but if you have the money....get what you want.

My S2000 with hardtop almost cost 40k...right aroud 37.5k.
