Default Canceling Comcast service

Well, there are no instructions anywhere on the Comcast website that explain how to cancel service. So, I clicked on the "interactive" help function, and here is my exchange:

Ask Comcast: Hello! I'm Ask Comcast, an interactive agent available 24/7 to answer questions about your Comcast High Speed Internet and Cable TV services.

You can ask me things like:

"What's my cable TV channel lineup?"
"What is HDTV?"
"I lost my password, what should I do?"
"How do I set up my e-mail?"
"How do I create another e-mail address?"

Type your question or topic in the space below and click SEND.

Guest: How do I cancel my service?

Ask Comcast: I'm not sure I understood that exactly, but maybe this answer will be helpful:

What to do if your cable goes out

Check to see if the electricity is on and your TV is plugged in and set to the correct channel (if you have a cable box or VCR). If you have a cable box, make sure there is a channel number lit up in the channel window. If you have a digital cable box and there is a "0" in the channel window, the box is not able to receive information.

Check all TVs in the house to determine if the problem exists on all sets or just on one. If there is no signal to any set, it is most likely a problem outside your home. You can also check with your neighbors to determine if your area is experiencing the problem or if it is primarily affecting your residence.

Please call your local customer service number for assistance and to report the outage. You may also contact Comcast Customer Service by calling 1-888-COMCAST.

5 Can my modem be hooked up to my television cable?

If you get a voice prompt menu when you call, just say "agent" and it will get you to a live person. Give it a shot if they have a menu like that, always worked for me.

That is just hilarious, sorry for your grief BTW.

UPS's menu is like that as well - oddly enough you tell it to "go f*&k yourself" and you get tranferred pretty quickly...

Yeah, I just sat on hold until a real person came on the line. I typed out that message to vent while I was on hold after pressing, "2, 2, 1, 3, . . ." Now I have to figure a way to drop off my cable box. Great.

You should record the call and post it on the internet like the AOL guy.
