Default cd player repair

i have this aiwa shelf system, and the cd player skips like crazy on the first 2-5 tracks on every disc. I dont' want to trash it, and was wondering if this is a common thing that I could fix myself.

thanks

There might be a problem with the optics inside the system, which might have to be replaced. It's weird though that it only does that on the the first few tracks of the cd. Have you tried to call aiwa yet, they might be able to help.

Sounds like the laser is not aligned correctly. I think Aiwa is actually a Sony brand. You might want to take it to the Sony Service cetner to see if it can be fixed.

I know many people with Aiwa systems with similar problems. Some times it has been a dirty lens other times it has been out of alignment as MarkS2K mentioned.
