It's been mentioned in articles that he battled both a weight issue (where he once weighed in at 300+ lbs.) AND a drug issue.
It looks as if MTV had finished filming something similart to A&E's Intervention where DJ AM was the host trying to help folks end their addictions...ironic.

im sorry but its horrible that people chose to waste there life away on drugs.
im not the biggest follower but his stuff was okay and his club near my house (atlantic city area) has only been opened a month.
he was just at the beggining of his success.

he cheated death more than once...reports are claiming that during one of his crack binges he actuall took a gun, put it in his mouth and pulled the trigger...the gun jammed.
seems odd that the fate strings on this guy were guilded twice only to have him die now from an apparent overdose or fatal mix of drugs......sadly ironic
