Do you carry Pocket Knife with u?
I usualy carry a smaller folding knife for utility. They come in handy very often.
I dont carry one for self defense....however in a life or death situation, I will use whatever is available to me to best defend myself. It probably will not beat out my pistol for that job however
Anyone that carries a knife for self defense, I'd recommend going through a CCW class (emphasis on 'weapon'), whether you need it or not (legally) to carry your knife.

Nope, I am a city dweller so have no need. If I lived in the bush I am sure it might come in handy, for erm cutting stuff.
Yeah I'm no boy scout either. If anything carrying a knife could get me in trouble with cops because where I live it's considered a weapon.

I agree - the man DOES know what he's talking about.
Too bad that you don't, but that's another story (and topic).

You know what's funny? As I was thinking about this thread I realized that until reading a lot of the comments here ---
--- I never really thought of a knife as a weapon.
I've carried one on me my whole life almost everyday.
And I'm not young.
I actually freak when I travel now because I can't carry one with me on the plane... (I mean "what if -------- happens").
My knife is my most basic tool.
I rely on the fact that in any given situation, I've got the ability to cut, pry, bash---
--- open my beers

every person should have with them the tools to do at least two things: cut something and make fire
two things in my possesion at all times are a cutting tool (knife of some kind) and a lighter
this has nothing to do with self defense...no billy bad ass here....just a little prepared in case I need to impove my situation at any given point
