I know how to fix this dogs humping problem, get him a girlfriend dog and give them about 6 months of marriage and some puppies, he will never want to hump again lol

 

I'm sorry to say that fixing the dog isn't a permanent solution. Humping is a learned experience and if he humped everything in sight then he has learned that experience.

It is a bit of a dominance thing as others have mentioned and it is a bit of a hormonal thing. The hormone levels have dropped which will cut it down a bit, but it will still be there.

That is why they suggest fixing a dog before they reach sexual maturity.

My daughter has this exact same problem now, but she wanted to breed the dog first. Now it knows the ecstacies of copulation and still wants to do it.

No matter, a dog in heat will excite all flavors of dog.

 

True, that's why I started this thread to see if others had any luck fixing dogs this late in their age. Well, so far it's been good, in any case things should be better off.

Unless you are a dog breeder, all dogs should be neutered. This will probably solve your problem, and will solve the problem of unwanted puppies at some point in time. In some cities, it is against the law to have a dog for a pet unless it is neutered or spayed -- unless you have a kennel license. I see the problem of what people do with unwanted puppies and dogs all the time. I live by a lake, and people think it is best to "dump" unwanted pups or dogs by a lake. The city usually pics them up, and most of them are "put to sleep". Some just wonder off and are never seen again. Perhaps, a very few get "adopted" by neighbors -- but very few.

All of my dogs have been spayed or neutered. unless you are a kennel owner, it is the most humane thing to do -- for both species.
