You cannot distinguish between a war and terrorism - the techniques are the same.

Those seen celebrating on the media coverage were a small group. I do not believe that all Arab's celebrated the deaths caused by this incident. However, I do believe that many celebrated what it represents, that the world's strongest nation who acts a little arrogant at times, received a strong slap in the face. the symbol of American domination in the world was blown up. that is what they celebrated. I dont like seeing it, but right or wrong, I understand why they reacted the way they did.

We have shoved our face into international conflicts that has gone on for centuries and we think because we are currently the world leader that we can fix the problems. It is that attitude that has many in the world resenting us and hating us...US. Sure some are jealous, but do nothing, but some react and act out violently like these terrorists.

I'm just blabbing because i'm venting, but I'd rather be doing something productive about it all. Any ideas?

I'm trying to figure out how blowing up the WTC and the Pentagon is going to help an impoverished people. It seems to me they could do a lot more for their people in creating a strong economy, developing infrastructure, stopping killing each other (and us), etc....it seems to me they justify their actions with religion as opposed to reason.

Are you referring to Dr. Tien from Cal Tech? Do the people in JPL talk about him at all?

There seems to be a growing opinion on this board that the attack was America's fault for any of a dozen reasons.
