"In some languages, like English, a single negative means a negative, as in 'I have nothing'," the professor said. "And in some languages, like Spanish, a double negative means a negative, as in 'No hay nada' ('There is nothing'). So in some languages one negative makes a negative, and in some languages two negatives make a negative, but in NO language do two POSITIVES make a negative."
