My very first post to this thread. Unless you stole it you shouldn't feel guilty.

 

So, you're saying that we should appreciate what we have because we could lose it. Nice. I got that.

However, what about the people who don't have anything to lose? What do you feel for them? Envy? Surely not. Sadness? Or could it be you feel nothing at all?

Well if someone had no friends no family then I would listen to them and hope they would start to build a new life.

I would feel bad for someone who just lost their job or their family or even just a few dollars.

I would feel bad about them feeling sad.

I wouldn't feel bad for someone because they were poor? I was poor I'd bitch slap someone for telling me that they felt bad because I wasn't rich. My life was no less important or contained less happiness when I had very little than right now at the top of my career.

Being poor doesn't mean you don't have a meaningfull happy and fullfilling life. Many people choose that life based on their career choices. Public servents, nuns, etc... These peoples lives are richer than most.Feeling sorry for someone who's poor says you have to have money to be happy. I think you can have close friends and be richer then most.

This isn't what the thread was about but it's an interesting question. I don't think anyone here feels anything different, but I might be wrong.

I would love it if everyone was rich but if everyone was rich no one would be rich. THe ultra poor people without any money and a lack of opportunity to make any money is a horrible thing. The government of any country that has such a class should hang themselves. There is no excuse and off course everyone feels sad for any human life void of freedom and the opportunities to THRIVE not just survive.
