5.26 - Turn Signals and Emergency Signals
You must use hand signals or directional signals to show that you are about to turn. Turn signals are required by law when changing lanes or
overtaking a vehicle. You should use your turn signals to indicate your intention with sufficient time to allow other drivers around you to see your
signal BEFORE you move. It is against the law to use your directional signals to tell drivers behind you that they can pass. Four-way emergency
flashers should only be used while your vehicle is legally stopped or disabled on the highway or shoulder.

I almost rear-ended some chick the other day when she was trying to park on the street, but didn't use her turn signal. Didn't expect her to suddenly stop like that on a big street with 45 MPH as the speed limit. Her friend even cussed me out when I told them to signal.

here in texas this seems to be a real problem. lots of people here who didnt take a driving test in this country if you know what i mean. ive personally witnessed 2 accidents that could have been avoided if the person simply used their turn signal.
amen to the cop who gave you this ticket, it really isnt hard to flick the signal lever, honestly it should be something you do without even thinking anytime your car is changing direction. even if you are in an "exit only" lane coming off the highway you should signal so that those behind you know what you intend to do. you should do it when you pull out of a parking space, when entering a parking lot, when in the left or right hand turn only lane. i think you should go to defensive driving even if the judge doesnt require it, you clearly need the education it will provide.

I have a problem with 90% of the responses in here...
How many people can say they never made a turn or changed lanes, and didn't use their turn signal EVERY time?
Why do we get up on our high horses and trash someone when they post something like this?
Sure... to a lot, or most of us, we would pay this and be done with it.... some people just aren't as fortunate as us....
I just don't understand the reasoning behind making fun of someone who got a ticket...

Sometimes I wish I had a big truck or SUV... I would smash the hell out of a person who make a dead stop to park without signal... and as far as changing lines without it.. dam ALMOST everyday of my driving life (specially in the highway) I have close calls...
Idiots just cross from line 1 to line 3 or 4 without signal.. a straight cross... I'm 20 and I don't drive that bad... I gotta admit I do run red lights during the night.. after 1-3am... I make a full stop then continue.. where I live isn't a good place to be alone and driving a nice sporty car...
anyways hope you learn from that.. we all do it or did it sometime... don't get offended by all these ''perfect'' drivers in here...
