Favorite Brand of IPA?
The BEST IPA is Dogfish Head 60min IPA. Can't be beat. A distant second is Harpoon followed by Sierra. I highly suggest you see if you can get Dogfish Head. Here's a link to there website.
The best hefeweizen for me is Hacker-Pschorr Hefeweizen. Here's the link to their website.
Second is Franziskaner Weissbeir Hefe-Weisse Hell Linked Here
Third is Schneider Weiss.
ENJOY!

I would have to say without a doubt that Dogfish Head 90 minute IPA is my favorite....
Personally, I despise bitter/hoppy beers, so I don't get along with pale ales. For the same reason, I don't like Widmer's hefe. Wheat beers are supposed to be smooth and refreshing, IMHO, not bitter.
That said, the best I've ever had is Weihenstephan, from the Munich area. Helles and dunkel are both good. Second on my list is Franziskaner. The Weihenstephaner, in particular, is much much better from the tap than the bottle.

And the "Vo"?
I actually brew a killer IPA and hefe both, though the hefe is a lot harder to do.
Cheers fellow brewer
Are you an all-grain or extract brewer? I have done a few of each and am gradually perfecting my processes. Getting the mash right is a lot harder than it looks. I never thought Hefe was all that hard to brew...one base malt, one hop addition and your done. Maybe I'll start a homebrewing thread here and see who else comes out of the woodwork

Magic Hat has a great Hefeweizen
The only other IPA's I can say I enjoy are from local brew houses here in Md. that most of you wouldn't know about (but Warren may) (Red Brick Station in White Marsh and Brewers Alley in Frederick)
