wdavis,
that's very good advice. 22's are fun to shoot too. My first gun was a Ruger .22
<sniff> wish I still had it...

The HK USP's are great options, I have the the full and compact frame .45 and like them both. Very simple design (like the glock) although I like the safety on the HK better. Both the full and compact frames are a little big to conceal, so I don't carry either. Also, the tactical light i the picture has to be one of the brightest lights I've ever seen. It REALLY lights up a dark room.

I've been eyeing the HK .45 ACP for awhile. It's polygonal barrel, cold hammer forged construction is a work of art. I really should get a small caliber gun though, since I occasionally take first-timers to the range from Japan (wife's friends).
Anybody got any suggestions on a good small caliber target pistol?

Okay, you guys got me hooked! What's a good .22 cal pistol to start with? What kind of price range can expect for the pistol?

Heck, go with the HK! When you take a first timer to the range use a lighter bullet and only load ONE round (ie. don't insert the mag, trust me on this one!).

If your going to train them in marksmanship skills I might look at a .22cal. Otherwise, if it's for kicks....give 'em a kick!

You cant go wrong with Glock there are so many parts and upgrades out, for the simple fact that many law enforcement agencies use them. With the H&K which I want to purchase I rented it here in the .45 compact, and loved how it shot and how it felt in my hand. Also I love the Tactical light they have for it. But I must refrain myself from buying anything until I get my 02 Spa Yellow S2K. Then I will take my dad with me because I am only 19 and plus he said that he would go with me because of the age law.

Ahh.. another gun freak! Cooool.

Personal Favotites (and owned):
Styer Aug (Assault Rifel, banned since 1986) -- far too fun, can drop 40 rounds in about 3 seconds. $4500 (Today)
Baby Glock Model 27 (10mm, decent carry, okay accuracy) -- Very reliable. (~$450-500)
Keltic P32 (Best carry weapon I've owned, also the most conceilable weapon available) -- Tiny and light $250

Least Favorite (Fired, wouldn't own):
Kazul 50cal (Holds 5 rounds) -- Meant for dropping Rhino's. 2 shots fired... brused hands, never shot it again. (No clue on price)

...Best addon: Red Dot sight.. OMG these things are amazing... can be had for ~60-$140 bucks. Talk about making shooting easy.
