Shed light on what topic, exactly? Do you have any firearms suggestions?

I have not mentioned anything relating to your rights of your amendments yet my country (the world's greatest country IMO of course) get's bashed because were ruled by the BRITS???? What are you talking about???? Were are certainly not ruled by the brits by any means. We pass 100% of our laws. The monarchy is still around as a formality only. Kinda like Australia. I understand that in your country (the USA) guns are still rampant, that is what I am talking about.
Exactly, the reason many of us may be unwilling to give up the right to own/carry guns may be 'because we can'. The mentality is different - americans wouldn't (didn't) accept a foreign monarchy - formality or no.
[QUOTE][B]
I am just baffled at this type of mentality and I've been pointing that out with as much respect as possible, I assure you.
I by no means wish to say that our laws are better than your laws etc.

I think the answer might be, none of your ing business. Why do you feel the need to ask?
There is no monarchy of Canada, never has been.
Oh really, what exactly are you then? May I point you to your own governments website ?

Oh well. I was honestly trying to a start an interesting debate but I see it's gone to personal attacks and swearing. I care because I have family in the US and I'm trying to understand your state of mind out of curiosity and out of interest for different cultures and their societies.
I never meant to sound self righteous, never. I appologize if It seemed that way. I'm now out of this conversation I agree I should have never joined in on but the curiousity on this mentality was stronger than my common sense I guess.
Oh well, bubbye everyone.
I'm sorry I offended anyone and their rights.

You asked, and now you complain and are offended by the answer?!? I don't see any personal attacks, and I didn't see you having a problem referring to Toledo as a shithole...

As far as handgunsare concerned, just get the canadian choice of self protection - Crosman.

My opinion of Toledo is based on the fact that I lived there, I'm not trashing the US by saying I didnt like living in Toledo and compared to where I live now and probably where you live too it's a complete dump.
You really havent answered my question, all you did is tell me it's none of my business.
I don't think some of your carry guns for self protection because "it's none of my business"
And by the way, that's definitely not the canadian choice of self protection. In fact, we don't have a choice of self protection, we simply don't think that way and generally don't need it. simple as that.
come up to Ottawa sometime we'll have a nice cold Molson Canadian.

I don't care about your opinion of Toledo or anywhere else, I was referring to your hypocritical distaste for swearing.

I kept giving you the answer, and you kept missing it - because I can. That's enough, I don't need any further justification - that's the beauty of this country. Another thing, you do realize that you can't ask someone a subjective question, receive an answer, and then respond with 'no, I don't think that's right', don't you? Well, I suppose you _can_ because you did, but it doesn't make for coherent conversation...

Well the first half of this thread was fine, but it seems to have gone down the crapper now. This is not the place for political debate on the merits or lack thereof of gun ownership. Unfortunately, the mess is too big to clean up now...sorry it took me so long to find it. QT, or anyone else interested in others opinions of which firearm to own, please start another thread if you like. This one is finished...
