In my experience - the job often doesn't matter in terms of satisfaction, it's the people you work with that make or break your enjoyment of it. Spend 8 hours a day doing something with no human contact except for interfacing with shitty management, and you'll hate life. Spend 8 hours a day doing something meaningless, but in the company of fun/interesting people, and I bet you'd look forward to going to work every day.
i think that is what is doing it to me.... 2 of the "fun" people left about about 6-8 months ago and ever since then it has gone completely down hill.....
On my floor there are maybe 15 people total and 2 of us have college degree's.... the rest are almost all country folks that say YOUNZ, Onced, Twiced, Desd....etc...and a few ghetto (yo yo yo) folks.........and on top of that they are all on meds...... zombie land..

Do you have something you can do as a hobby or something to give you some "down time"? I think you probably just need something to take your mind off all the crap that's going on.
I don't really think that quitting your job is going to reduce your stress level at this point, nor do I think it's going to give you much of a boost in life. I'd say it's more of a hinge point to become lazy, unmotivated, and probably depressed.

I would say take a break after the audit. Get your bro or highschool/college buddy to take a break with you. Daytona is at the end of the month. You could make a nice roadtrip out of it. You need to get out of the area. Your job, your house, your ex are part of the life that you are trying to leave behind. Take a break from from it and enjoy what makes you feel alive. Then try to figure out how you are going to change your life for the better.
It seems the 2 major negative forces in your life are the J.O.B. and your Ex. Your ex is unfortunately going to be a part of your life until your kids are 18. The quicker you move from "I want to kill this money sucking leach" mentality to a lets be mature about it since She has my kids mentality the better. That will take time and you finding a circle of friends/women to spend time with.
The Job - You obviously know Money is just a tool. There are plenty of people with more money who are miserable. I would highly recommend you don't change jobs right now. Instead - try to strengthen yourself - mentally, spiritually, and physically. As you go through this process you will find clarity in your mind/life that will show you to the new job/carerr.
Hope that doesn't sound too hokey!
