"His" S2000 vs. "My" S2000 - is this fair?
cranky...I might have missed you mentioning something on this line of thinking... But my wife and I have been married for 13 wonderful years. We each have our own hobbies and our own toyz. From the get-go of our marriage, we agreed to give each other an equal and inflation-driven allowance from our pooled salaries. That allowance is generous enough for us to enjoy our hobbies, and we've never once fought over money. Now, obviously, (well, perhaps not obviously...but I promise, we couldn't swing it) our allowances are not generous enough to cover car payments of our wildest dreams! But we've always approached our own happiness as being generated by seeing to it that the other is as happy as possible and has whatever they'd like -- while still making ends meet & saving/investing for the future as well. So she owns a nice horse trailer and an '01 Dodge Diesel 4x4 and I own a projection TV and an S2000. Again, we've never fought over money. Its been a blessing I promise you!
BTW, we also don't have children...we consider ourselves "happily married"
The "happily married" crack aside, I realize that w/o kids, we have more disposable income than the next couple... But that was our decision from the get-go of our marriage as well.
