Met my wife in college. Based on some of my friends, they met in places that they didn't expect to meet a life partner. Some didn't meet the special someone until their thirties.

All I can say is don't be nervous, the right person will come along when you least expect it.

A good example - my friend in N.J. met his wife at a DMV office while complaining about failing his inspection. The girl (DMV employee) was the one listening to him screem about his complaint. She tried calming him down with a joke, he thought it was funny and asked her out for a cup of coffee- her reply - how about a drink at the bar. That was ten years ago.

You never know where Mr. or Ms. right is going to be.

I met her in a used car lot, she was back in the corner, all clean and had a nice price tag on her, I talked the salesman down to a good deal, and then I took her home, gave her a bath, and then I began spoiling her with BP 93 clear premium octane and giving her new things everytime I could. She has been my true love since last summer and we have gone through our rough point but I will never let her go.

I have no significant other.

I met my fiance on s2ki.com ....yep, THIS SITE!! Last year a thread came up about relationships and what people look for in the opposite sex. People kept focusing on looks and how guys only see that. I made a comment about I had met girls of average looks, yet spectacular personality, and they became more and more beautiful in my eyes the more I got to know them, until one day they were the most beautiful girl in the world (which is true). Along with some other comments this managed to get her attention and she sent me a short PM about it. I sent one back, before long we were talking and decided to meet up. Here is the kicker...she lives in Canada 8 hours away!! We still met (in Michigan) and hit it off instantly. Within 5 minutes of meeting Lesley I knew my life was never going to be the same, and that it had changed for the better.

Ever since that day last summer life with her has been perfect. We get along better than I had ever imagined, and fit each others personalities exactly. Every couple of weeks we get to see each other (remember...8 hour distance), and we do not let any of the problems of distance get to us. When one of us falls, the other picks them up. Perfect.

Neither of us were looking when we found each other. It is a classic example of finding the love of your life when you are not looking for them. Besides both having S2000's, we both have a love we were not sure was still out there. We are getting married June 26th and she is moving here to Indiana with me. Everyone that meets us says that we are perfect for each other. They are right. Life is good....

I took my cat to the vet and chatted with the cute vet tech while I waited. I got a call from her a few days later asking how my cat was, we talked awhile longer, then I asked her out.

She later told me that when she looked at my records she saw my ex-girlfriends name as "other contact" so she thought that I might have been married or at least had a g/f. She also said that she never did call backs but she wanted to call me in hopes that we might get together and to find out if I was single.

That was back in June of 2000 and we got to be friends during the rest of the year because she was going to Texas A&M for vet school and I was in Austin, a couple of hours away. We started spening more time together in 2001 and started dating seriously at the end of that year. She graduated this year and is a vet at a clinic back here in Austin.
