I met mine in a ballroom dance club in college. I had bought Blink 182 tickets to go with another girl. When I first saw her, I turned to a friend and said "I could marry a girl like that someday." I asked her to go to the concert instead, and she surprisingly said yes. We hung out and went to movies, etc. for about 2 months, and I thought things were going well, but slow. I tried to speed it up a little, but she got a little upset and said she was dating someone else at the time and just wanted to be friends (she thought I was just being nice?!?). That was at the end of the fall quarter (December) of my junior year, and I decided to focus on my studies and swear off women for a while to try to boost my GPA.

January came along, and I tried to be cordial, as we hung out with the same group of friends. Ever since I started college, I baked brownies (and damn good ones at that- taught by my sister) and gave plates away to girls I knew (so I might be able to meet their friends) or girls I was interested in. I decided to give her a plate too, since she was pretty cool. I didn't know it, but the night I delivered the brownies was the same night that she had just broken up with the guy she had been seeing for the previous 4 months, and had been crying over it. The next week she called me up and started talking, so I thought I'd amuse myself and see what happened. We talked for a few hours, so I finally invited her over so we could talk without a phone glued to our ears. I drove her back home around 1 in the morning after talking for 4 hours or so. She called me up a day later, and the same thing happened, but I was too tired to drive (she didn't have a car). I let her crash on my bed as I slept on the couch. I was still under the impression that she just wanted to be friends, and I didn't want to ruin a good thing. Two days after that, she called again and got invited over. This time she gave me an opportunity to kiss her that I couldn't resist, so I did. I was shocked that she kissed back. She spent the night again, but invited me to stay in bed with her, and she curled right up next to me and fell asleep. While dating, my GPA actually went up 0.4 points, so I didn't have to let her go to concentrate on studies. We dated for 3 1/2 years and just got married in July. The past 6 months have flown by...

 

Those musta been really good brownies.
