I've had some rough spots during my life, when my parents Divorced when I was 16, I started smoking pot, occasionally taking speed ..Ended up getting hooked on acid for 7 months till I OD'd and ended up In rehab, and started going back to church and building a relationship with God and I don't think I could be any happier with my life now, Now I have a wonderful job(not my career, but Its what I'm happy with right now), great g/f school Is a struggle sometimes.Only thing that really ever gets me down Is thinking of all the friends I lost to drugs and I was somehow lucky enough to get away from It.

I do Marketing Communications for a B2B telecommunications company.

I have previously worked for a genetic toxicologist @ the US Gov't, worked in PR while in the UK, worked at MEMA (motor & equipment manufacturers association) doing marketing communications and worked at an e-mail marketing company (not spam!).

What do you do?

What do I do to be happy? I maintain a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and that gives me the kind of balance I need to live life to its fullest.
Please don't take the wrong way, but I am absolutely amazed that Jon is the only one that referenced Jesus Christ in this thread (at least that I saw).

Whether you are Christian or not, it is not for me to judge.

However, please take this as an absolute fact: If you think that anything of this earth, be it clothes, money, cars, houses, etc. will make and KEEP you happy, you are in for a very long ride.

I have bad days, but my joy and my foundation is with Jesus Christ. Everything else is a sideshow.

I prefer to leave my religious beliefs off of a public message board as in my opinion, they aren't anyone elses business but mine.

Kudos to you for having a different opinion and for stating it - but I'd caution you that even if people aren't mentioning the more private aspects of their lives (in this case such as religion) it doesn't mean they aren't there, or they aren't central to their happiness.

It's not paranoia if they really are out to get him.

i agree, but only with the first part...mainly because things usually can and do get ugly when religion gets injected into a discussion. and at the end of, no one's beliefs get changed.
