I find myself wearing suits on a near-daily basis, then dressing way down on Fridays to jeans and a golf shirt. I'm a big fan of French cuffs on my dress shirts, I think it really upgrades the look. I have a decent number of ties, though I don't think i've ever bought one but I still have my key 4 that really look sharp in my opinion.
Outside of the office I'm definitely a khaki/cargo shorts and a golf shirt in the summer, jeans and a button down collared shirt when out at night at a bar or something, but around the house I'll pretty frequently walk around my house in boxers and a t shirt when I get home from work.
Gap, Banana Republic, American Eagle, all those matured-frat-boy type of places for me

It's like accessorizing in a manly way. I have a mix of shirts, some french cuff, some not. Most not. The problem is that all my french cuff shirts are cotton which makes em a bitch to iron.
There is definite truth to that ol idea that if you dress better, you work better. I know I am way more productive when I'm dressed well at work. I'm tired of people from the other office joking "You got a job interview today??" I interview people for jobs. It's what I do, so yeah, I do have a job interview.

I haven't read through this entire thread but I don't think you should stop wearing the "youthful" clothes you once loved and adored.
However, I think there's a time and place for everything. I'm not a huge fan of girls who constantly get "dressed" up to check the mail, get the morning paper, get gas from the gas station or go to their local coffee shops. Nor am I a fan of guys who constantly dress like they slept in a garbage can.
I know from growing up, I wasn't allowed to wear any socks that had holes in them or two different coloured socks and to make sure if I was wearing "dress" clothes that I acted properly instead of a child when wearing them.
My style has changed, but ever so slowly. I couldn't afford to buy from the big named companies so I would wear stuff from Walmart or Winners. Now that I can afford it, it's a bit of a turn off at times when I know I can get the same Nine West high heel shoes at Walmart for 80% off.
