how much did you make right out of college?
about 2 years ago i thought this would be a neat profession....but standing around putting pills into bottles really doesn't sound all that neat..... about as neat as me sitting in front of my current computer dicking around with accounting crap.
I am pretty sure the only real way to make good $ and have an enjoyable job is to be self employed.....

Marquette University:
Undergrad: CompSci 4.0, Human Biology 3.7; in 1997.
Graduate degree: Physical Therapy 3.1 (up until the last semester of clinicals...didn't finish); in 1998
I didn't finish the last semester of clinical, nor did I take the board exam. As I was interviewing and taking in offer letters for a P.T. career path, a friend asked me to interview (on campus) for some IT position his company and others had openings for.
It was prime time to get into the IT industry, hiring bonuses were close to 80% of the salary, after-hiring bonuses and performance bonuses were often and big. This was my experience in the IT/business consulting industry at the time.
My first year out of college in the IT world, I cleared over $80k. Second year was even larger.
Now I am in the midst of my MBA and my current employer has been adjusting my salary as I finish course work and demonstrate application of what I've learned into my work.
I can't wait 'til I'm done.

55K- first job out of college....a week after graduating
It's weird because back then it was pretty easy to get a job, but now...for grads it can be tough as hell. I have 3 friends that graduated last year.. One is a waitress, one is a cashier, and the other is a manager at Subway..

First job out of college was working for a CPA firm. $700 per month, $8,400 a year. Of course that was 1973. I also got 7 weeks of paid vacation!
Income went up dramatically every year until I left the same firm 27 years later.
Now I'm back to about 700 a month. Well maybe a bit more.

$50k first year (start this July)
3.84GPA (as of now, graduate in May)
MIS major, Marketing/Finance dual minors
It is definately hard to get a job, I am graduating this year from a private school (Villanova) and am lucky enough to have secured a job last summer (through my internship), but many of my friends are still looking.
I will need every penny to pay for this car and help out my family (especially since I plan on maxing my 401K and my Roth IRA). Good thing the market is improving!
