how would u live this life?
some people think working at a job and getting promoted etc is a good use of time and others think it is a waste of life. some people believe that work is something you do to facilitate the rest of your life.
^ i would say a waste of a person would be someone who mooches off their parents and contributes nothing back to society, party a lot, etc...... that is lame and those people suck.
if the person needs some help from the parents to do something rewarding and beneficial to others than some help is warranted.
just my take.

scot, you can't save your image with some generic PC talk.
if someone doesn't contriubte to society (i'd argue that many many people degrade society without knowing it), but just enjoys themselves, is that considered a waste?

If the same scenario they are mooching off the parents (cough...paris hilton), then I would say the parents need to evaluate the situation and make the person more responsible. They have created a self absorbed monster.
I am sure in a few cases there are people who live off the parents, appreciate it and try to do some good stuff, but I doubt it is very often.
so.... in the end if you don't spoil your kids what do you do with your accumulation of wealth? I would say you give it away to people who work hard in 2 dead end jobs and are trying to succeed....
I think the key to passing on wealth or "a better life" to one's children successfully starts with teaching the children to have respect for that wealth AND to respect the lifestyles that others may have as well.
I personally know far too many people that had everything they wanted handed to them by their parents when they were kids and yet cannot support themselves today.
And those that ARE able to support themselves (or were simply handed wealth as an adult) generally look down to those that have less and are envious of those that have more. IMO, that's not a very happy way to live life.
As s2000raj stated, it's not just about giving kids something that you didn't have as a child, but also passing on lessons learned, such as the value of money and the work it takes to generate it.
