another local beer here is the Twisted Pine Brewing Co, their TwistedPine stuff is darker and has a good roasted barley flav that i would normally NOT like but they seem to do it right, must be good have their t-shirt. Twisted Pine:

Mmmmmmmmm...beer. I used to really dig the Rogue beers, brutal bitter and dead guy ale, but a new discovery has spoiled me for ALL other beers. Dogfish Head 90 minute IPA. Far and away the best beer I have ever had. It is another 9% alcohol beer, and it has a full body that almost reminds me more of wine (and I'm an even bigger wine lover) than beer. Other beers now seem like a let down. If you can find it, I'd highly recommend giving it a try.
Hoesgarten is some pretty good stuff too.
I agree on the Belgian beer route, they seem to have some of the best stuff out there.
