inkjet vs. laserjet

For B&W laser is WAY cheaper per page.
If you do need a lot of color inkjet prints then pay more for the printer up-front because the "pro" printers with larger cartridges actually cost less on ink cost.

i heard laserjets are more cost effective (but more expensive up front) and more difficult to maintain, plus their rollers need cleaning more often due to the carbon dust build up, is this true?
). prints flawlessly; no jamming issues or anything. cartridges are about $60-70 depending on where you buy.
I have a Hewlett Packard Laserjet 4+ that I have been using for years. It costs about $86 for a cartridge but you don't need to replace it very often. On average I get about 4,000 pages out of a single cartridge.
I don't know if this is how you use your printer, but I had a problem with ink jets clogging. I never got all my ink out of them. I probably print once a month at the most. I was getting to the point where my printers were two or three use and then in the trash. I got a $60 Samsung laser and it was worked perfectly for five years. Toner doesn't dry out and clog nozzles the way that ink does.
I have been using a refurb Brother MFC-7820 for about 2 year, no issues after many reams of paper and one $70 cartridge. It is only plugged into my router so I never have to physically hook up my business laptop to scan or print. The software is clean and streamlined.
I had the HP 6110 and it broke, so I bought another HP all in one. Couldn't get it to work and HP tech support told me to return it and buy different model. So that is when I bought the Brother. I never liked the HP software and have had problems with HP inkjet printers.
Although, my dad has a 10 year old HP laser printer that works fine.
Either way, avoid all inkjets.
