An error was made and a document was sent to you by the DMV. Call the DMV. Probably just an error, but if it's something more, then you could hopefully nip it in the bud.
Or you could legally change your name and claim ownership of the vehicle.

I was hoping to just call him and discuss over the phone but I guess finding a guy's number even in today's internet world is not too easy if that person is an online type of guy....
Anyways I'm going to call DMV now, just was hoping you guys could have helped out last night.

No... he doesn't have everything but a phone number. All he really has is a name. The address on the thing was his own. He has a license plate & VIN, but apparently those are associated with his own address, too (since that's where the DMV sent the title).

I must've misread it. If he really does have their actual address, then it seems he should just drop it in the mail to them. Maybe they lived at his current address when they originally bought the car.
