Iraq
Another concern I have is if we attack and if we/someone else removes Saddam, I have heard a U.S. plan that a U.S. general will run Iraq for a year or two. I don't think that will go over very well with the Arab world. What do you think?
People have been claiming the end of the world is close for thousands of years. We'll get through this just like we've gotten through every other crisis. The only question is how much humanity it will cost.
I agree that we should do WHATEVER is necessary to prevent Saddam from obtaining nuclear weapons and disarm him of all weapons of mass destruction. My problem is what Bush wants to do next.
Democracy is not compatable with the Muslim religion. Its like mixing oil and water. Pushing democracy on Iraq will be a huge mistake. Only Iraq can govern itself after Saddam.

Don't you get a different feeling with this potential conflict? It's not like Korea, Vietnam, or even the Cold War. This is a totally different situation. That area of the world is a huge powder keg that the U.S. might ignite and never be able to stop the explosion. Just like Han Solo said "I get a bad feeling about this".
This is the 40th anniversary of the Cuban missile crisis. I remember the front page of the news paper having photos of proof of what was going on down there. Our president hasn't exactly been forth coming as far as PROOF is concerned. Just now they are showing the public satellite photos. Why has it taken them so long to do that? I'm just asking.
Like I said, I get a bad feeling about this. I hope I'm wrong and Bush is right.
yeah, even with the satellite photos you only get pictures of buildings, not their content. we all know that there are weapons but can we prove it? i just would want a lot more if it were me and i had to go fight, or worse if i had to ask a child of mine to put his/her life into danger. it seems unfathomable that you can go to war because of what you think someone might do. that part of the world is so volatile that it is definitely a lose, lose situation for us.
we lose if that mayhems, spreads to our borders. we lose if after Saddam is exactracted, another regime worse than his is erected. we lose if ten years later we find ourselves fighting the same battle with a different cast. we lose if we have to install a interim government to govern Iraq. i firmly believe that any government associated with the U.S is doomed from its inception, for the people of Iraq will never accept it. --understandably so.
on the other hand, i think we should go to war with Iraq, despite all the cons. i jus want us to explore every avenue, leaving no stone unturned. if the U.N. inspectors are not allowed in, then i affirm that we have no choice.

Ive got some pictures of what chemical and biological agents do to people if you would like to see them. Most of which saddam has in mass quanities. If you think watching a couple 110 story buildings crumble to the ground is bad, you should see what happens when you are exposed to something that makes you bleed from every orifice, and your organs pour out of your body....or how about something that melts your flesh while you watch it drip off if your bones (that is before it gets in your lungs which you will probably spew on the ground) before you are dead.
If you have any doubts about whether he has the stuff or not, DONT he does because thats the closest thing to the devastation of nuke that they can produce. Dont fool yourself folks, even though kalifornia has a ton of nutless liberals, ya'll are on the same hit list the folks in New York and Washington were on. Its just a matter of time. Time will prove beyond any doubt that saddam has WMDs and has supported the same ilk that killed over 3000 of your fellow countrymen on 9-11. There is also no doubt that he would do it again, as it is the only way he has a chance to strike the US.
There is a war going on in America as we speak. Just as we go to work everyday (8-12 hours a day) to buy a new home, mods for our cars, a new couch for your home, or an upgraded sound card for your computer....there are people working just as hard plotting the demise of the United States.
You can fight now or wait until the enemy both in iraq and here in the US are stronger.

The only problem, wdavis, is that the U.S. has enemies all over the world as well as within it's own borders. This war we are presently fighting is as tough as the war on drugs (can't win that one). I don't have any answers. I just pray that if we do go to war, some of the experts are correct in saying that the Middle East will be happy that Saddam is gone and we can all go on with our lives. I am just majorly concerned of the consequences. This isn't Hitler's Germany, Tojo's Japan, Mao's China, or Stalin's Soviet Union. These were political. What we are getting into is more or less religious. The crusaders marching through Islam.
The radical islamists have made it pretty clear that if you arent a muslim and accept allah as god, that you are the enemy and should be tortured and killed. The question then is how many muslims will follow the teachings of radical islam. Youre right, it isn't Hitler's Germany, Tojo's Japan, Mao's China, or Stalin's Soviet Union....this is much worse. If you dont fight now, you better be ready to accept the words of the koran like the radical islamists, or you better be ready to fight for your life like non islamists in other countries right now.
Its not a pretty thought, but it is reality.
